Care & Warranty

Healthcare Beds – Product Care & Warranty

Please see below for warranty and maintenance information across our Healthcare Bedding range:

Warranty Information

Our range of Malsch beds come with a 5-year warranty on the frame, alongside a 2-year warranty on the motor/electrics. Parts and labour are covered within the warranty. However, for clients outside of metro Perth there will be a labour/transport fee.

Product Care & Maintenance

For individual home care use, we recommend general cleaning of your bed frame and surround. Vacuuming the bed mechanisms to reduce dust build-up, and wiping down on a regular basis with a damp cloth and gentle cleaning solution as standard. Any oiling of nuts and bolts should be done with a silicon based oil e.g., WD-40 Specialist Silicone Spray. All purchases will receive a digital instruction manual when you receive delivery of your bed.

For care facilities, a deeper cleaning regime in line with aged care and disability facility standards is recommended. This includes at minimum the above.

Servicing

We recommend that our customers conduct a service of their bed every 18 months to 2 years. A general bed service & maintenance can be booked within the Perth metropolitan area, with the first half-hour of labour charges at $195 inclusive of minor parts. In the unlikely event that further time is required or other parts are needed, additional cost of $25 per 15 minutes thereafter is applicable and required parts chargeable.

Healthcare Mattresses – Product Care & Warranty

Please see below for warranty and maintenance information across our Healthcare Mattress range:

Viscorelax Mattresses

  • 7-year manufacturer defects warranty on the foam.
  • 2-year manufacturer defects warranty on the cover.
  • The Viscorelax mattress covers can be disinfected by wipe cleaning with a suitable disinfectant or can be washed at 95°C (autoclave up to 110°C).

Thevo Mattresses

  • 2-year manufacturer’s structural defects warranty.
  • Please follow the manufacturer’s textile instructions at all times (see label). We will accept no guarantee liability for incorrect washing/cleaning. We recommend you clean your mattress cover at least once a year.
  • The mattress can be autoclaved, making it suitable for re-use.
  • The Jersey cover is breathable and can be easily unzipped and removed for washing. Washable at 65°C / Suitable for tumble dryers.
  • The Incontinence cover can be cleaned by wipe-down disinfection but can also be easily unzipped and removed for washing. Washable at 65°C / Suitable for tumble dryers.
  • The black cover for the suspension framework can be easily unzipped and removed for washing.
  • The suspension framework requires simple cleaning as follows; the bed base can be wiped with a damp cloth and non-corrosive household cleaning agents. Make sure the bed base can dry well afterwards. Cleaning with an alcohol-based disinfectant is also possible.
  • The mattress and suspension framework can be cleaned by steam vacuuming. This has to be done to disinfect before each re-use. We recommend two disinfecting methods recognised by the Robert Koch Institute:
      • The fractionated vacuum method (vacuum-steam-vacuum method) up to a maximum temperature of 110° C.
      • The steam flow method up to a temperature of 110° C.
        • Important note: Thermal treatment above 110° C leads to premature ageing and deforming of plastic parts, which is why it shouldn’t be done. When using chemical disinfectants always follow the information from the manufacturer to ensure they are suitable for the material.

Healthcare Latex

  • Airing of the bedroom – Regular airing of the bedroom will guarantee a healthy and pleasant environment for yourself and your mattress. High humidity in combination with inadequate ventilation (for example, in the case of closed wardrobe beds), can lead to damp stains (mildew). Damage due to damp stains is excluded from the guarantee.
  • Airing of the mattress – The fabric of the latex mattresses is composed of soft, natural materials, which must be aired. If you cover it with bedding, make sure that the latter is permeable to air and moisture. As with all new things, latex mattresses have a specific intrinsic smell, just like a new leather hand bag or pair of leather shoes have. If the mattress is aired, this will disappear within a few days, and is absolutely harmless.
  • Turning – Turn and flip the mattress regularly. We recommend that you rotate between turning your latex mattress 180° and flipping it over, every 3-4 months. This way, the material can recuperate better, and the sleeping comfort will be retained for even longer.
  • Form and volume – The core and the upholstery of latex mattresses consist of soft materials and can change slightly in width, length and height during storage, transportation and use. This will not impair the sleeping comfort nor the quality and is no ground for a claim under the guarantee.
  • Cleaning – All the covers of our latex mattresses can be dry cleaned. Washable models are specially marked. Please follow the manufacturer’s textile instructions at all times (see label). We will accept no guarantee liability for incorrect washing/cleaning. We recommend that you clean your mattress cover at least once a year.
  • UV light – Never expose your uncovered latex core to UV light – daylight or sunlight – as it increases the ageing of your mattress dramatically.  Mattresses exposed to UV light do not fall under the guarantee.
  • All stocked European Bedding latex mattresses for healthcare environments (for example; in aged home care, NDIS disability care and other healthcare applications), have a one year warranty.

Genuine Dartex Covers

  • Dartex cover – Wash with warm soapy water, rinse with fresh water (no soap), and dry.

Lifestyle Mattresses – Product Care & Warranty

Please see below for warranty and maintenance information across our range of Lifestyle Latex Mattresses range:

  • Mattresses less than 1 year old receive a free replacement of the mattress core.
  • Mattresses between 1-3 years old receive 70% of the cost of a new mattress core.
  • Mattresses between 3-5 years old receive 40% of the cost of a new mattress core.

our heveya® 100-Day Trial

We are committed to delivering the best sleeping products to all of our customers. We offer a 100-day trial for all of our latex mattresses. During this trial period, should you discover that the mattress you purchased is too firm or too soft, you can request a change of the mattress core free-of-charge (Perth Metro area only).

We want to make sure you get the right feel for your new mattress. However, if the second mattress core is still not right for you, we can change the feel of the core again, but we will then charge a nominal fee to cover our transport costs. (Perth Metro area only: AUD95). The timing of the exchange depends on the availability of the cores.

This 100-day trial does not apply to customized mattresses and does not include the ergonomic slatted bed bases nor bedding accessories. To be entitled to a mattress density swap, the mattress must not be found dirty, marked, damaged or abused when inspected by the Heveya® staff.

Free Delivery

  • For Heveya® purchases above AUD 300, we will deliver your products free-of-charge to Metro Cities Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney
  • For Heveya® purchases below AUD 300 they will be shipped to you free-of-charge. If you require hand delivery within Perth Metro there will be a charge of AUD 50 per trip
  • For Heveya® purchases online for regional areas, we will contact you within 24 hours during working hours to discuss shipping charges and arrange for delivery. Please note that we deliver only to addresses within Australia.

Product Care & Maintenance

We recommend turning your latex mattress every four to six months. For example, you can rotate 180°, flip the mattress upside-down and where you have a partner, swap the mattresses from side to side. Doing this regularly will ensure you evenly distribute pressure by continually sleeping on different parts of the mattress. The latex should never be exposed to UV or direct sunlight as this can decompose the latex.

To clean the core (only if necessary), simply use a damp cloth, rub lightly on the affected area and then let it dry in a dark room.

You can also increase the shelf-life of your latex mattress and reduce the regularity of cleaning by adding a mattress protector onto your bed as soon as you purchase it.

Optimise Your Sleep Conditions

For optimal sleeping conditions, we recommend ventilating your room every day and using a slatted base rather than a plank or box spring, as this will help to promote optimal support and breathability of your mattress. We also recommend that you pull back your sleeping covers (blankets, duvets etc.,) to properly air your mattress.
